About the Fair
Citrus County Fair is annually held at the 28-acre fairgrounds in Inverness, FL. After being held at a few different locations, the fair was organized for the first time in 1948 at the current fairgrounds in Inverness.
In 1965 the Jacobs Building was erected on the fairgrounds which was named after a volunteer Charles Jacobs. Baker Miley Building, named after a director who made several contributions, was built on the fairgrounds in 1975. In 1979 the Riggs building(named after Inez and Raymond Riggs) was built on the Citrus County Fairgrounds. In the year 1980, the building at the main entrance of the fairgrounds was built and named after Eleanor Bonifield who was in charge of Horticulture exhibits at the fair for many years.
Citrus County Fair is a family-friendly event that offers lots of fun and entertainment for everyone. The fair also features livestock, tractor pulls, rodeo, contests, food, exhibits, and rides. In 2024, the seven-day Citrus County Fair will take place from Monday, March 25 to Sunday, March 31.
