About the Pumpkinfest
Port Elgin Pumpkinfest is an annual event where you can enjoy giant vegetable weigh-offs, games, midway rides, pony rides, food, a petting zoo, giant pumpkin carving contests, and much more.
The festival’s roots date back to 1986 when the first weigh-off event took place and was called “The Great Pumpkin Event”. Pumpkingest was founded as an attraction to extend the tourist season in Port Elgin.
Port Elgin Pumpkinfest had a humble beginning as the first festival was attended by only about 200 people – today it is a widely celebrated and one of the most popular events in Ontario. In 2024, the two-day Port Elgin Pumpkinfest will take place on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 6.
