About the Show
Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show (RGVLS) is an annual event that takes place in Mercedes, Texas. The first show was held in 1940 at the grounds of a local livestock sales yard with make-shift arrangements. Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show moved to its present location at North Texas Avenue in 1949.
RGVLS is a family-friendly event with plenty of fun and activities for everyone. The show features a parade, livestock, contests, rodeos, rides, food, live music, games, and more. In 2024, the eleven-day Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show will take place from Thursday, March 7 to Sunday, March 17.
