The 47th Annual Woolly Worm Festival
The Woolly Worm Festival is organized each year on the third weekend of October in Banner Elk, NC. The first event was held in 1978, and now thousands of people gather in this picturesque small town nestled between North Carolina’s largest ski resorts to attend the festival. The event features woolly worm races, tasty food, crafts, entertainment, and so much more. In 2024, the two-day Woolly Worm Festival will take place on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.
