About NWSS
National Western Stock Show is an extravaganza of about 30 rodeos, 11 horse shows, and countless other attractions, held each January at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado. The first show was held next to the stock yards in the year 1906. Considering the significant response that the first stock show got, the Western Stock Show Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit company. NWSS soon became one of the top livestock show and rodeo events in the Southwest.
Attracting over 700,000 visitors each year, the National Western Stock Show is a nationally recognized western heritage and entertainment event. It is a family-friendly event that celebrates western lifestyles, communities, and traditions. In addition to livestock shows and rodeos, NWSS offers lots of fun, entertainment, and activities for everyone. The event features trade shows, contests, dog shows, horse exhibits, livestock exhibits, a youth art show, pony rides, a petting farm, a dairy discovery zone, Folkloric Dancers, a parade, kid-friendly activities, music, food, and more. In 2024, the 16-day National Western Stock Show will take place from Saturday, January 6 to Sunday, January 21.
