About the Cave City Watermelon Festival
The Watermelon Festival takes place annually at City Park located along South Street in Cave City, Arkansas. The first Cave City Watermelon Festival was a one-day Chamber of Commerce event held in August 1980. The main highlight of the first festival was the watermelon parade, which drew more than 2,400 people to town.
The Watermelon Festival has grown into a three-day event featuring many attractions, such as watermelon eating contests, watermelon judging contests, 5K runs, talent shows, pancake breakfasts, parades, live entertainment, car shows, plenty of sweet watermelons, and much more.
In 2024, the Cave City Watermelon Festival will begin on Thursday, July 25 and conclude on Saturday, July 27.
