About the El Dorado County Fair
El Dorado County Fair is annually organized at approximately 48-acre fairgrounds in Placerville, California. The first recorded Fair in El Dorado County was held in 1859. With no permanent facility to call its own, the fair was held at various locations until 1939. The first fair at the current fairgrounds was held in 1939. The funds to purchase the fairgrounds property were provided by the State of California. The fair association to organize the annual event was formed in 1952. In 2024, The four-day El Dorado County Fair will take place from Thursday, June 13 to Sunday, June 16.
