About the Lincoln County Apple Festival
The Lincoln County Apple Festival is a celebration of the harvest, annually held on the third Saturday of October in Lincolnton, North Carolina. The event was first organized in September 1972 at Boger City United Methodist Church and attracted about 300 visitors. The next two festivals took place in the National Guard Armory before moving to West Lincoln High School in 1975.
In 1978, The festival moved to its current location i.e. Main Street to accommodate the growing number of attendees. It offers lots of fun to delight all ages in a safe and family-friendly atmosphere. The event attracts more than 80,000 visitors and features local apple growers, entertainment stages spotlighting local talent, a farmers market, crafts, kids activities, exhibits, apple pies, and other tasty foods. In 2024, the Lincoln County Apple Festival will take place on Saturday, October 19.
