About the Newberry Watermelon Festival
The Watermelon Festival is held annually at CountryWay Town Square in Newberry, Florida. First held in 1946, it is one of the oldest watermelon festivals in the country.
Newberry Watermelon Festival is a popular community tradition offering something for everyone. The festival features watermelon eating contests, a parade, food booths, kids’ activities, pageants, and more. In 2024, the Newberry Watermelon Festival will take place on Saturday, May 18.
