About the Fair
Herkimer County Fair is held annually in August at the fairgrounds located along Cemetery Street in Frankfort, New York. The fair began in 1941, but was incorporated and held annually after moving to Frankfort in 1950. In the year 1958, the fair purchased Slocum Farm and got a permanent home on Cemetery Hill Street. The first fair at the new site also took place that same year using the existing farm buildings; and was a great success. Over the years, Herkimer County Fair has evolved into a widely celebrated community tradition.
Herkimer County Fair is a fun-filled and family-friendly event that features amusement rides, livestock, truck & tractor pulls, pageants, contests, demolition derbies, live music, kids’ activities, food booths, and more. In 2024, the six-day Herkimer County Fair will take place from Tuesday, August 13 to Sunday, August 18.
