About the Fair
Minnesota State Fair is organized every year at the 322-acre fairgrounds in St Paul. It was first held in 1854 as Territorial Fair to highlight agriculture and encourage farming in the region. The event became Minnesota State Fair in 1859, a year after Minnesota was granted statehood.
The fair attracts over two million guests annually and is one of the most popular events in the United States. It is often referred to as the “Great Minnesota Get-Together”. This end-of-summer tradition offers food, entertainment, shopping, animals, fun, and more. In 2023, the twelve-day Minnesota State Fair will be held from Thursday, August 22 to Monday, September 2.
