About the Festival
Oktoberfest was born in Munich in the 19th century and first made its way to La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1961. It started as a simple community event and turned into a traditional annual festival that offers good old-fashioned fun.
Lovingly nicknamed Das Beste, this festival is the longest-running Oktoberfest in the Midwest. The event features parades, rides, contests, music, and so much more. In 2024, the three-day La Crosse Oktoberfest will be held from Thursday, September 26 to Saturday, September 28.
