About the State Fair of Texas
The fair was established as “The Dallas State Fair & Exposition” back in the year 1886. A group of Dallas-based businessmen including W.H. Gaston, John S. Armstrong, and Thomas L. Marsalis established the fair. With its rich and lengthy history, Texas State Fair has become a popular and unique destination where people from all walks of life gather to create lifelong memories. It is not only one of the largest events in the country but also the longest-running fair in the United States.
The annual event celebrates Texas heritage, traditions, agriculture, education, and community. It also features livestock shows, arts & crafts, midway, contests, games, entertainment, food vendors, and so much more. In 2024, the 24-day State Fair of Texas will be held from Friday, September 27 to Sunday, October 20.
