About AIBF
Every year in October, the much-anticipated Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta creates an enchanted world of special-shaped balloon rodeos, twilight balloon glows, and vibrant balloon-filled skies over the Chihuahuan Desert.
The event first took place in the year 1972 in the parking lot of Coronado Center Mall in Albuquerque, which was a small gathering of 13 balloons. The balloon fiesta has grown to become one of the largest balloon events in the world. In 2024, the nine-day Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will be held from Saturday, October 5 to Sunday, October 13.
