About Greeley Stampede
Greeley Stampede is Colorado’s premiere summer event that celebrates the nation’s independence and Western heritage. The Stampede’s earliest roots date back to the late 1800s, when it started as a community event to honor local potato farmers. The event officially became known as Greeley Spud Rodeo in 1922 and as Greeley Independence Stampede in 1972.
Annually held at Island Grove Regional Park, Greeley Stampede is a family-friendly event featuring attractions for all ages. It features an Independence Day parade, PRCA rodeo performances, bullfighting events, a demolition derby, kids’ activities, vendors, live music, food, amusement rides, games, and more. In 2023, the twelve-day Greeley Stampede will begin on Wednesday, June 26 and conclude on Sunday, July 7.
