About the Festival
The North Carolina Azalea Festival is annually held in Downtown Wilmington, NC. The first Festival was held in 1948 and it was an instant success with thousands of attendees. This family-friendly festival is a community tradition that offers lots of fun, entertainment, and activities for everyone. The Azalea Festival features parades, street fairs, home and garden tours, games, live music, children’s activities, pageants, and so much more. In 2023, the five-day North Carolina Azalea Festival will take place from Wednesday, April 12 to Sunday, April 16.
