About Dane County Fair
Dane County Fair is held annually at Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1851, the Dane County Agricultural Society came into existence and organized its first fair in October of the same year. In its early years, the fair was held at various locations and so the Agricultural Society purchased the current fairgrounds(Alliant Energy Center) in 1895.
Dane County Fair is a widely celebrated community tradition that has been a family destination for people in Dane County and beyond for over 150 years. The fair is home to amazing food, carnival rides, games, music, livestock shows, other exhibits, contests, vendors, and more. In 2024, the four-day Dane County Fair will begin on Thursday, July 18 and conclude on Sunday, July 21.
