About the Avocado Festival
The Avocado Festival is annually held in Carpinteria, which is a small seaside city in Santa Barbara County. The festival celebrates the production of Avocadoes and the amazing community. Santa Barbara County is one of the largest avocado producers in North America with Carpinteria being a major contributor, so having the annual festival here makes a lot of sense. It is a free festival, but a number of non-profit groups benefit from catering to the visitors.
This family-friendly festival began in 1986 and has evolved to become one of the largest festivals in the state of California with jam-packed entertainment and fun for everyone. The event features live music, contests, rides, plenty of guacamole, and so many other non-avocado and avocado dishes. In 2024, the three-day California Avocado Festival will begin on Friday, October 4 and conclude on Sunday, October 6.
