About the Fair
Gallia County Junior Fair is an annual event held at the 250-acre fairgrounds in Gallipolis, Ohio.
The first fair was a one-day show on the lot of a local equipment dealer in the summer of 1950. The following year a two-day fair was held on the park front in Gallipolis. In 1952, the fair was moved to the Holzer Airport where it became a three-day event and featured rides for kids. In 1955, Gallia County Junior Fair found a permanent home on the sixteen acres of land donated by Evans Grocery Company. More land was acquired from time to time during the following years and the fair board now owns a total of over 250 acres.
Gallia County Junior Fair continues to provide an opportunity for the county’s youth to exhibit their talents in a family-friendly and fun-filled environment. The event has served as a means of inspiring youth to greater achievements and be recognized for their efforts.
The Junior Fair also features rides, contests, live music, rodeo, demolition derbies, truck & tractor pulls, games, and more. In 2024, the six-day Gallia County Junior Fair will take place from Monday, July 29 to Saturday, August 3.
