International Day of the Midwife(IDM) is observed on May 5th every year. It was founded by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) in 1992. Midwives devote their lives to caring for mothers and children. They play a vital role in providing health services like annual gynecological exams, labor & delivery support, and newborn care. They also educate about fertility, pregnancy health, nutrition, exercise, infant care, and contraception. This day is a global recognition and celebration of the Challenging work of midwives.
International Midwives’ Day will be observed on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
